Using the Orbis' video-based navigation, "point and click" data collection and data overlay capabilities, it is easy to analyze and compare small particles such as wear metal debris. It's also possible to build tables of particle locations for automated, unattended data collection.
Below is an example of data collected from the above particle. It is possible to extend the capability of the system even further using library search/match capabilities. Reference spectra for known samples can be collected, stored and built into a library. The elemental profile of an unknown can then be searched against the library to help determine its identity.
