Smart Track
Smart Track is built into the Environment Panel allowing you to quickly and easily ensure that your detector is working and you have optimal working conditions upon setup. The Environment Panel serves two purposes - Monitoring system status and integrity, and providing access to advanced level (Tier II) application controls and properties. During acquisition this tool will inform you of changes in your working conditions which include stage movement and magnification adjustment. During map acquisition, TEAMTM will provide you with time collection parameters and suggested working conditions. All of these Smart tracking tools help to insure that the data you are collecting is the best data possible. |

Smart Acquisition
Whether simply collecting a spectra or performing complex phase analysis, TEAMTM EDS makes it easy to get the results you want. The basic goal of Smart Acquisition is to allow any user, no matter how inexperienced they are, to collect data comparable in quality to the data that would be collected by a skilled, knowledgeable user.
Smart Acquisition permits a user to:
- Collect data with minimal setup
- Predict or calculate optimal parameters
- Receive guidance and suggestions on how to optimize microscope parameters
- Be warned when incorrect data can be collected
- Have parameters dynamically adjusted during an analysis when it makes sense to do so
- Collect quality data in a very efficient manner

Smart Phase Mapping
TEAMTM EDS provides a unique display dedicated to the majority of the field of view. Once the "collect data" activity is in progress, the system will automatically collect a smart preview spectrum. This will set up the initial table of elements being mapped and will be updated during the mapping process.
TEAMTM EDS will begin to make a provisional analysis of the EDS data being collected at each point/pixel and assign a phase according to the combination of elements being measured. The chemistry will be represented in a pie chart.

EXpert ID
Whether your focus is mapping or spectra collection, TEAMTM provides the Smart tools to make the analysis faster and easier. EDAX's one step EXpert ID is a revolutionary peak identification program. Analytical intelligence combines traditional peak ID routines with real world analysis techniques to provide the most accurate way for a user to solve qualitative analysis problems. By using a combination of known peak locations and rules based theory, complex overlaps are deconvoluted and trace peaks identified, resulting in the best automatic peak identification on the market. |

Smart Data Management and Review
TEAMTM's Data Management system will keep you organized and increase the ease of use through simplified file management. Your data is saved as a project and presented as a project tree for interactive review and archiving of images, maps spectra and reports. Reports can be saved automatically within TEAMTM by pressing a single button or in over 20 different file formats to meet the user's needs.
