WDS Course - USA

3 day Course Description (Mahwah, NJ)

This course combines Theory and Principles of WDS with Practical Analysis with the EDAX Genesis EDS/WDS Neptune system.

The concepts and basics of WDS, particularly of Parallel Beam Spectroscopy, will be covered as an introduction, as well as advanced EDS parameters relevant to WDS analysis. With this foundation, we will move to cover the details of data collection and optimization of parameters for analysis. Practical work, with a focus on each customer's samples or fields of interest will be emphasized. Select to register on line.

Training time is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9:00 AM to approximately 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Note: For this training, customers are strongly encouraged to bring their own samples (either conductive or carbon coated). We do not have a low vacuum SEM. In case of WDS quantification, please also bring the standards (either compounds (e.g. SiO2 for determining Si) or pure standards.
