EDS Operator Course

Introduction
Since the early 1990’s, the success of the PC-based EDAX microanalysis equipment has created a large European customer base. To help existing customers get the most from their equipment and increase their expertise, EDAX is offering a dedicated EDAX EDS Microanalysis Course. This course is intended for existing EDAX users with EDAX Genesis XMS, Phoenix, or for those intending to use an EDAX microanalysis system in the near future.

Course Contents
In the four day course a wide variety of topics will be discussed, ranging from basic theory of X-ray generation to advanced light-element quantification, X-ray mapping and X-ray line scans. Classes will be organized as tutorials, hands-on SEM-plus-EDAX operation, and computer classes.

Facilities
For the computer classrooms a sufficient number of modern computers with off-line EDAX software are available. The hands-on sessions will be held onsite at a digital SEM equipped with a modern EDAX Genesis microanalysis system. The classes will be given by experienced EDAX personnel. EDAX will also provide excellent teaching material.

Language
All teaching materials, classes and other events will be in English.

Venue
EDAX BV is located in the city of Tilburg, in the southern part of the Netherlands. All course participants will be booked into the Mercure Hotel, unless indicated otherwise by the customer. If you make your own hotel bookings, please inform EDAX so that we may cancel your reservations already made for you at the Mercure Hotel. Estimated costs are €99 each day for a single room, including breakfast. The reduced rate is only valid if reservations are made through EDAX. Transportation from the hotel to the EDAX office will arranged each day.

The city of Tilburg has a good train connection from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and can also be reached from Eindhoven Airport. All participants will receive detailed travel information after registration.

Registration
Applicants can register on-line on the EDAX website under Tilburg Registration using the registration link or by sending a fax or email to EDAX in Tilburg. The maximum number of participants for the EDAX EDS Microanalysis Course is eight, and assignment will take place on a first come, first serve basis. All registrations will be confirmed as soon as possible, together with more detailed course information. A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged for cancellations three (3) weeks or less before the start of a course.

EDS Academy at EDAX facilities (4 days) €1750, excluding VAT
WDS Academy (LEXS and TEXS) at EDAX facilities (3 days) €1500, excluding VAT

Deadlines
All registration forms should arrive at the EDAX Tilburg office at least three weeks before the start of the course or workshop.
