Transition Element X-ray Spectrometer (TEXS) - High Precision (HP)
The TEXS HP is a parallel beam spectrometer (PBS) that employs capillary optics (replacing the high collection optics (HCO)), enabling the spectrometer to have an energy range from 150 eV to 10keV.
TEXS HP Features:
- Captures the highest count rates of any WDS system available, providing rapid X-ray analysis at the best resolutions obtainable
- Provides high count rates and peak-to-background ratios, superior low energy resolution <40eV for X-ray energies below 10keV
- Provides excellent resolutions for the K lines of the transition elements, able to resolve most of the α / β overlaps of the transition elements
- Suitable for low energy microscopy due to the short X-ray path and optimization of diffractors
- Enables count rates that allow for high speed analysis
- Employs an array of software controlled piezo motors to accurately position the optic to within +/- 2 microns and obtain the optimum position even for large samples
