EDAX Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) Detector Technology

Octane Silicon Drift Detector Series SDD
The Octane Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) Series delivers high-quality EDS data at previously unachievable speeds. Until now, the potential speed advantages of SDD technology have been unrealized due to losses in data quality at high count rates. With the Octane Series, customers are no longer forced to choose between fast data collection and high-quality results. Finally, microanalysis experts can benefit from both speed and data quality to maximize their materials insight.

Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) for the Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM)
EDAX’s Apollo XLT is the world's first SDD for the TEM that is fully integrated. Data acquisition and signal processing electronics are fully integrated into the detector. The integrated detector presents an elegant design that improves performance, facilitates installation and offers easy remote access via Ethernet from virtually any computer.
